Happy Ending
Beech Wood

___
One trunk charred to a deep black, the other in beech’s own pale tone, begin at the base, twisting upward together until they become a single knot at the very top. The artist has neither concealed nor polished the charred surface blackened by fire. Here the “happy ending” does not lie in remaining unscarred; on the contrary, it is the recognition that the burnt half, too, is the essential part that completes the whole and carries the other. Reaching the summit is possible only when both halves stay faithful to their shared movement.
